Privacy Policy
Snoowie is built around public arguments, not your private data. Here's what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it.
What We Collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your username, email address, and password (hashed; we never store it in plain text).
- Content you post. Posts, comments, War Room messages, Hot Takes, and reactions are stored and displayed publicly as intended.
- Usage data. We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) to keep the platform running and detect abuse.
- Engagement signals. Votes, watch counts, and reaction data help us surface heated content. This is anonymised in aggregate.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.
- We do not read your private messages (if/when DMs are introduced).
- We do not use your data to train AI models without consent.
- We do not retain deleted content beyond 30 days unless required by law.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (like dark mode). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or ad-targeting cookies.
Data Retention
Your account data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your posts are anonymised (not deleted, because public arguments stay public) and your personal data is purged within 30 days.
